Project Director’s Note
Dear Residents and Stakeholders
The Circle Line (CCL) comprises 33 stations, of which 30 have been completed
and are in operation. The Circle Line 6 (CCL6) project will add the remaining
3 stations and a depot to the Circle Line, forming a complete loop. The
3 stations of CCL6, viz. Keppel Station, Cantonment Station and Prince
Edward Road Station will connect the existing HarbourFront Station to
Marina Bay Station. The Kim Chuan Depot Extension will add train stabling
and workshop facilities to the expanded CCL to enhance operations.
Work for CCL6 was awarded under 5 contracts between September and November 2017 to local and foreign contractors.
Major construction activities are now proceeding in earnest at all sites. Piling works and construction of temporary earth
retaining structures are seeing good progress. Traffic and utility diversions are also proceeding smoothly. Excavation
works and construction of the structures have also commenced.
It is inevitable that inconveniences like noise, vibration and dust from the major construction works will be experienced
by adjacent stakeholders. My team and the contractors will work to minimise the inconveniences with effective mitigation
measures. We will also engage stakeholders proactively and provide timely and relevant information of construction
activities. I seek your understanding, patience and support as we strive to complete this major project safely, with good
quality and on time.
To provide comprehensive information on the CCL6 project, we have constructed a Project Information Centre (PIC)
at the Project Office next to the former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. The PIC features models of the stations,
depot and tunnel boring machines; information panels and up-to-date status of the various construction activities.
You are cordially invited to visit the PIC to have a clearer understanding of the project and to provide us with your
valuable feedback.
When CCL6 is completed in 2025, the overall connectivity of the MRT network will be enhanced, with commuters
enjoying a direct route from areas in the west like Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge to key employment areas in the Central
Business District and upcoming developments in the Marina Bay area. Commuters travelling from Paya Lebar and
Mountbatten will also enjoy quicker and more direct access to the retail and office centres in the HarbourFront area.
In closing, I look forward to your partnership and support for the CCL6 project.

Prince Edward Road
CCL6 is 4km long and comprises the construction of
Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Road Stations,
and the Kim Chuan Depot Extension (KCDE). Connecting
to HarbourFront and Marina Bay Stations, the CCL6 will
close the loop for the Circle Line (CCL) in 2025. Upon
completion, CCL will have a total of 33 stations, including
12 interchange stations with other MRT lines.
faster access to their destination through better connection
to existing radial lines.
The underground KCDE covers an area of 16 hectares
and is approximately 1.5 times the size of the existing
Kim Chuan Depot (KCD), to which it is integrated. KCDE
includes the construction of a two-level Rail Depot that
provides stabling facilities for 65 trains, and a three-level
Bus Depot for 550 buses.
Commuters travelling from Paya Lebar and Mountbatten
will also enjoy faster travel and will have more direct
access to the retail and office premises in the HarbourFront
area. An illustration of travel time savings is given below.
The completion of CCL6 will enhance overall connectivity
and capacity, strengthening the resilience of the MRT
network and most importantly, providing commuters
