Jurong Region Line Enhancing Connectivity in the West Updates on Ongoing and Upcoming Works May 2022 JURONG INNOVATION DISTRICT BUS INTERCHANGE SHOPPING MALL Artist’s Impression Jurong Region Line The Jurong Region Line (JRL) is Singapore’s seventh MRT line, serving both existing and future developments in the western part of Singapore. To be completed in 2029, it will significantly improve the connectivity of the region and support the development of the Jurong area, which is set to be the largest commercial hub outside the Central Business District. An elevated line with 24 stations, the JRL will include three interchange stations at Boon Lay, Choa Chu Kang and Jurong East MRT stations. These interchanges will add more connections to the existing rail network, and commuters will enjoy more alternative routes of travel. FUN FACT: JRL TRAIN Did You Know? JRL will have 62 fully-automated, driverless three-car trains. These can be expanded to four-car trains as commuter demand increases.
