Mr. Tillar’s Class composers, authors, & illustrators May 2022 In music class we read the book The Song Garden by Vicky Weber. In the story, a community creates magic song gardens that make music. The gardens mimic the music staff with the five rows corresponding to the five lines of the staff. We created our own song gardens and the magic of them is that you can hear the results using Chrome Music Lab Song Maker. You can click on the speaker icon on each student page and hear their creations. All songs are linked using the piano instrument. Once you are on the song maker page, students can select a different instrument and add percussion instruments. You can also create completely new songs. We hope you enjoy these student compositions, their writing about them, and their illustrations. Click on this speaker on each page to hear the music created by each student. By clicking on the rectangles, you will change the notes or turn them on/off. Try different combinations of note colors, you can use more than one in a column, you can even draw pictures. Have fun composing music! Click on the dots to add percussion parts. Click on the piano to change to a different instrument for the colored melody.
